Yes we may look strange, but no matter what we’re still cousins ~ Anonymous

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she’s the reason you wish you were an only child. ~Barbara Alpert

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

“Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.”
-St. Augustine

Our day at the Garden of the Gods . . .

Posted by keri on Nov 16, 2009 in Natural Family

Bill, Crystal & kiddo’s what a fun family.  We headed over to Garden of the Gods.  I had not been there before, though I have seen pictures, and now that I have been there - it truly is a Garden for the Gods - it is beautiful and gave a lot of fun places to take pictures of this crew.  They were way to much fun and looking forward to engagement & wedding pictures - I have no doubt we will have a blast!

If we smoke the peace pipe maybe it will stop raining =)

And lastly, while we were there the kids discoved a nest with three robin eggs, when they showed me this baby had hatched:

These are truly two of my all time favorite shots… I have never seen a brand new baby bird before.
